Danielle Pursley

Pre-Placement Trainer
Area of Focus: Virtually Servicing All Counties

Danielle Pursley brings a lifetime of personal experience being deaf, former Cochlear Implant user, and 10+ years of experience in non-profit agencies supporting those with disabilities. She began direct support with individuals, then worked her way up to training staff following policies and procedures, and of course the person they support’s plans. These plans are personally designed with their case worker, agency support specialist, and the person with their agreement and consent. This helped her teach not just staff, but the person they were supporting, to be independent in the community. With professional experience, and personal, she could help the person that is receiving supports, navigate their needs and desires in the employment field to independently work with their job coaches in successful employment. This brought personal enrichment and inspiration to continue this dream of supporting those with barriers, break those barriers!

She is a new resident as of a year ago, to Florida, from the great Pacific Northwest of Washington State. She is an army brat, but her father retired during her childhood and grew up in the capital of Washington, in Olympia. She has a love for dogs and has a golden retriever, herself!

Danielle’s role model is an famous deaf actress, Marlee Matlin, who has starred in many academy award featured films. The most recent film, CODA, inspired her to continue her passion in the deaf advocacy field.

“I hope I inspire people who hear. Hearing people have the ability to remove barriers that prevent deaf people form achieving their dreams” —Marlee Matlin
